Dr. Donald Baucom, a Professor in Clinical Psychology, is the receipient of the 2008 North Carolina Psychological Association’s 60th Anniversary Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Science.

The NCPA recognizes Dr. Baucom’s career and contributions in the area of research, teaching, and service. During his 30 year career, he has helped to develop cognitive-behavioral interventions for couples. He has co-authored two books on the topic and over 170 journal articles and book chapters. He is currently the principal or co-principal investigator of 11 research grants, totaling over $5 million in funding. he supervises graduate students and mentors their development as clinicians, investigators, and presenters. He was President of the North Carolina Psychological Association and represents the NCPA on a committee designed to evaluate the state’s four inpatient psychiatric hospitals.
