Dr. Ann Barrick, a Professor of Clinical Psychology, retired on July 31, 2012.

Dr. Barrick joined the Department of Psychology in July 1986 and taught courses on adult development and aging, mentored undergraduates and graduate practicum students at Central Regional Hospital, and supervised student research. She also served as a psychologist at the Geropsychiatric Unit at Central Regional Hospital for eight years before becoming the Director of the Central Regional Hospital in 1994. Dr. Barrick is a nationally-renowned researcher and the recipient of numerous state and national awards.

She looks forward to traveling, farming, and advocating for the well-being of North Carolinians who struggle with mental illness. Thank you for your service and contributions to our program and department!
