Dr. Mitch Prinstein, John Van Seters Distinguished Professor of Clinical Psychology, and his book, Popular: Finding Happiness and Success in a World That Cares Too Much About the Wrong Kinds of Relationships,” were chosen for the 2018 Carolina Summer Reading Program.

The Carolina Summer Reading Program selects books annually that are intellectually stimulating, enjoyable, provoke interesting discussion, and address a theme or topic that is applicable to undergraduate students. Incoming UNC Chapel Hill students will read the book over the summer and find that the Carolina Summer Reading Program to be an excellent introduction to academic life at Carolina and a valuable opportunity to connect with peers. Past book selections have included How Does it Feel to Be a Problem? (2017), Being Mortal (2016), Just Mercy (2015), The Round House (2014), Home (2013), and The Shallows (2012).
